Treat your feet after a day of hiking

Autumn is best time for hiking in Europe. If you savour the nature with your feet, remember that they have to withstand particular stresses when hiking. Try this very special treatment to delight your soul and your soles. In a bowl of warm water blend ten drops of Sodashi’s Balancing Concentrate with a tablespoon of Sodashi Body Balance Salt Therapy Exfoliant. Soak feet for ten minutes while being enveloped in the beautiful aromas of pure plant essences. Remove feet from the aromatic soak and pat dry. Then generously moisturize your feet and legs with Sodashi’s Mint Soother Foot Treatment, which boosts circulation and cools tired, aching feet and legs. Finally, slip your feet into good quality woolen socks for 20 minutes and relax with a soothing herbal tea. For particularly dry skin, apply a layer of Sodashi body butter over the top to complete your treatment; choose from Vanilla or Floral Body Butter. Your feet will love you forever!

Women love this facil and so do men

Our Thermal Infusion facial is called nature’s face lift for a reason.

If you’re not familiar with this signature Sodashi facial, then it is time I introduce it to you. However, instead of doing it ourselves, I will share what Australian beauty authority Zoe Foster wrote in her blog after experiencing this facial at Emirates' Wolgan Valley Resort Timeless Spa. "Without going into detail, suffice to say there were lots of incredible-smelling essential oils, vitamins and minerals, and copious amounts of facial and decolletage massage, drooling and a bit of a snort (me, fast asleep) and an infusing mask that makes all the products penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin, and which gets quite hot towards the end of the 25 minutes it’s on (...over your eyes.... and over your lips...) but your therapist is right there holding and massaging your hand so you never feel genuinely scared. The Thermal Infusion facial gives the most impact, and very quickly. It’s called nature’s face lift for a reason!"

This Sodashi signature facial is available at most spas throughout the world. Tailored to your skin's needs, this natural facial is an indulgence that can purify and deeply cleanse, or provide intensive nourishment, leaving your skin hydrated, toned and supple.

Sodashi Founder Megan Larsen reveals her personal summer skin care tips

Enjoying the sun safely. Who, better than the Australians, would know how to do this? Nowhere does the sun radiate more aggressively than in the land down under.

“Ever since I can remember my mother encouraged me to keep out of the sun and look after my skin. On my 13th birthday she gave me my first cleanser and moisturiser, which has formed the basis of my daily beauty regime. Throughout the summer months – especially in Western Australia’s Mediterranean climate – sun, heat and air conditioning dehydrate the skin, so at all ages it is important to protect, hydrate and nourish your skin.

Here are my very special summer skin care tips:

1. Use a face mask once or twice a week to give skin extra nourishment.

2. Invest in a facial every four to six weeks and meanwhile make sure your skin care regime is suited to your skin type as your skin’s needs might change over time and from season to season.

3. Cool and hydrate sun-exposed skin with Sodashi’s After Sun Cooling Mist.”

How much of a product should you use?

Just a drop, or a whole lot? It might seem like a simple question, but it's one that almost everyone has pondered at some point.

It's important to apply the right amount of your favorite products, and in this article we'll help you take the guess-work out of your skin care routine-to ensure that you obtain the best results.

Face and neck: With our daily regime, many of us are quite generous with our products. It's probably because we think "a lot helps a lot." But in this case, "less is more." Also, using Sodashi you will need smaller quantities than what you use with other brands. Sodashi products last longer (and that saves money too.) Our quantities are easy to remember. For cleansers, take the quantity the size of a large hazelnut, for Skin booster use the size of a small one. For the moisturizer, use a quantity the size of a large pea, and for the eye and lip smoother a small pea will do.

Body: The technique you'll use is just the opposite. Most people don't apply enough body cream-and some don't moisturize their skin - outside of their face and neck - at all. That's a mistake for which your skin will eventually pay the price! Your body needs the nourishment as much as your face. Hence your strategy should be to oil generously slather your skin with your cream, oil or lotion. Remember: For every part of the body, allow a generous pump of the body lotion. Massage in any excess until it is absorbed by the skin. And one thing to always remember is sun protection. There is no "too much" there.

A scalp massage is the perfect way to relax.

Since a great deal of the human nervous system is located in the head, it's no wonder the area is prone to the effects of stress, tension and strain. Just like a massage for your aching muscles, a scalp massage is the perfect way to ease away the tensions of the day. Incorporate it as part of a 60-minute spa treatment, or do this short five-minute version by yourself. Use your fingers to create circular movements from the hair line to the back of the head, and also from the neck to the back of the head. Afterwards pull the hair, as strongly as you comfortably can. Finally, caress gently over the head. You should feel warmth around that area, because the massage has encouraged the flow of blood in the scalp. You can enhance these benefits by applying a moisturizing scalp and hair mask. While doing the scalp massage work Sodashi Deep Conditioning Hair & Scalp Mud in to the slightly damp hair. Leave the mask to infuse for an additional 10-20 minutes, then rinse to remove. This luxurious hair and scalp mask stimulates healthy hair renewal while improving softness and shine.

Keeping your skin fit – and yourself too

Sport guide Andreas Mayrl of the Vigilius Mountain Resort reveals, how snowshoeing can strengthen your skin’s immune system.

"Our skin protects us against cold weather, heat, and germs. In winter skin reacts even more sensitively when exposed to sunlight, pollutants and bacteria. In order to keep the immune system in momentum, walking in fresh air and taking a sauna regularly are ideal. I also recommend snowshoeing to you. This old winter sport is enjoying increasing popularity. It is easy to learn, makes your body fit and does your soul and skin good. This wonderful experience trains important body parts such as thighs and bottom, trunk and shoulder. A tour should last a minimum of two hours – to encourage perspiration. This cleanses and detoxifies, since our largest organ gets rid of toxins in this way. Afterward, have a sauna to strengthen your immune system. Snowshoeing also serves as a balsam for your soul as you enjoy nature, away from crowded slopes amidst impressive scenery. Standing eventually on a mountain peak, is a cheering feeling. Doing it for the first time, I suggest you to take a local guide. You may borrow also the equipment on site. Have fun."

Anti-aging advice for your hands
Consistent care is important to ensure that your hands remain beautiful over time.

These delicate workhorses are exposed to extraordinary strain. To keep your lovely hands healthy, young and beautiful, pamper them regularly: Put a teaspoon of Sodashi Jojoba Bead Body Polish on moistened hands and massage the top of your hands and your fingers. Next, clean the hands with a hot compress by adding four drops of any Sodashi concentrate from your daily regime, to a basin containing very warm water. Immerse a soft cloth, squeeze out excess water and then apply to your hands. Repeat twice. This treatment removes dead cells and prepares the skin to better absorb the moisturising Sodashi Hand Rescue Cream. As a final step, massage both hands until the cream has been completely absorbed. Your skin should now feel soft and smooth. This anti-aging therapy also fights against pigment marks.

Marvellously radiant

How does she do it? We posed this question to Verena Lasvigne-Fox, the Spa director of
the Four Seasons Hotel George V since 2007.

"The Balancing Concentrate from Sodashi is one of my favourite products for my daily beauty regime. I use it slightly differently than what Sodashi recommends, but with great success. In the morning andwhat Sodashi recommends, but with great success. In the morning and in the evening I clean my face with Sodashi Cleanser with Lime. I massage the cleanser on my face and instead of removing it with pure water only I use a small towel soaked in a blend of warm water and Balancing Concentrate. This makes my skin look fresh and soft. I feel awake and ready, due to the Citrus aroma from Lime and Petitgrain in combination with Lavender. Afterwards I use a booster and a moisturiser. My skin is now well prepared for a working day in the hotel."

Separate the wheat from the chaffe

Just because a cosmetic sports a “natural” label doesn’t mean it’s truly natural. Here are some guidelines to help you discern what’s real—and what’s not.

Despite many existing certifications, it is truly not easy to identify real natural cosmetics without any special training. This is because each approval is based on different criteria. Take Ecocert as an example. This seal is widely spread in Europe. Ecocert demands that at least 95 per cent of the ingredients must originate from nature. However, the remaining 5 per cent can be artificially made. So examine natural cosmetics carefully before your next purchase. The following should be part of your critical check:

1. Read the ingredients list. These are typically indicated with their botanical names in Latin. But many reliable manufacturers also write them in English. This helps to find out which ingredients the product contains. If you are not so familiar with the names, use the internet as a research tool.

2. Look for dark packaging, because high-quality natural cosmetics are generally photo-sensitive. Of course, the outside packaging should be
environmentally friendly, too.

3. Visit the manufacturer's website and read the information carefully.
Manufacturers who are truly committed to natural cosmetics design the
entire production process to be sustainable. Brochures and the website
should contain appropriate references and information.

4. Analyze the price. Remember how it is when you purchase food: The

better the quality of the ingredients, the more expensive the price.
